The PRO26 (-26dB) is made for the loudest stages and environments to protect your ears where they are most sensitive. The PRO26 attenutation is voiced to attenuate equally up to 4kHz, then to increase to the full -26dB in the upper frequencies.  This means you have maximum protection even in the loudest environments with the peace of mind that frequencies that can be more peircing at higher levels will be kept in check as you work!
 
A great example of this would be when Guitar valve amps are cranked up to a high volume and they can sound sharper, or more cutting than at a lower volume. Althought the amplifier is making the sound equally louder, we don't hear frequencies the same at different volumes. The louder the sound is, the more sensitive our ears are to frequences above 4kHz and we percive them as even louder, making sources sound shrill, harsher or cutting. This is why the PRO26 and alot of the PRO range reduce the higher frequencies more than the lows to make them feel more natural.
